Here's what's happening on DDM that you're missing out on today.

We have started out our day with our daily affirmation by Super Moderator LisaLisa1908:
Quote:

Affirmation - In order to move on, I must let go.

The reason you cannot break free from your situation is because you have it in your grasp. Release it. You cannot move forward if you're holding on to what's back. This goes for everything - your relationships, your job, your feelings, your past - all of that. Don't hang on to the hurt; it is when you let go of the hurt when you begin to heal.

Breathe, stretch, shake, let it go.

Make today the best day.
<3,
LL
See, we don't just talk shit around here. We encourage and motivate one another on a daily basis.

In the Childhood & Parenting Forum, we have a lot up for discussion. Most recently, bigDEElight posed the question of raising children with double standards
Quote:

Something I despise seeing is parents acting as if their daughters can't learn to mow the lawn while their sons can't possibly learn to sew or cook. Are you raising your children with double standards?

Do you think these misbegotten concepts is what has bred these sorry ass excuses for men and women these days? Discuss.

In Love & Relationships, there is always a bevy of diverse topics. No one topic is ever the same. No, no you won't find DDM bitching about not being able to find a man. Instead you'll have us pondering topics such as "What Would you Like to Ask the Married/Engaged/Reformed Pimps"
Quote:

The motherhood thread got me thinking why not do a relationship version. What questions would you like to ask the married or engaged members or those ladies who know the game?

My question is for married ladies who lived with dude before tying the knot: How did things change afterwards?
or maybe you're interested in How You Might Fall Out of Love
Quote:

Love is a choice. You choose to be with someone and feel for them; otherwise, we would all be out here randomly loving whomever.

Distance yourself. End communication. Stop thinking about that person and distract yourself WITH yourself. Love YOU and stop worrying about HIM, because he CLEARLY isn't worth your time and effort if you have to try to "fall" out of love with him. Stop thinking about how he makes you FEEL and start thinking about how YOU feel regardless of him.
Agree? Disagree? Give us your thoughts: Click Here

Stay tuned. We haven't even covered the bases yet.

Divas, Dolls, & Misfits: Welcome to the Ride.
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Reading comprehension, cognitive logic process, & common sense are prerequisites for posting or reading threads on DDM. Apparently some of you are severely lacking

Wise words quoted in the "College jail ain't for everybody" thread.

Quote:

I say higher education for the sake of black folks not coming in dead last in every category except sports, rap and stand up comedy.

In general, I wish that we could recite the mantra 'Jail ain't for everybody' as quick as we are to give that reaction about college. There is alot of wasted potential in the black community because 'we' are very quick to be the first to tell somebody what they can't or ain't go be as opposed to what we can.

I'll take it a step further and say that "college ain't for everybody" said in our community is a euphemism for "we are physical people who were not bred for thinking".

Anybody seen "Diary of a Tired Black Man?"

Quote:

Whatever grievances Black men have, while likely valid, do NOT excuse the shit their brethren have executed. I'll be willing to entertain their valid exhaustion when all the valid child support has been paid, when the lies stop getting told, and when they decide that going to jail isn't a viable life path.
